We’re seeking a Senior-to-Principal level Database Administrator with an adept understanding of Postgres. In this role, you will be leaned upon as a subject-matter expert with our RDBMS environment, consulting with development teams in the design and development of data reporting and aggregation. The DBA will help to optimize our existing SQL databases and own communication between various teams to ensure the proper data mapping and implementation of new tools and technologies.
A successful individual in this role will have excellent written and oral communication skills. Proactive ownership of our environment and its many dependencies will be key to success in this position. Please see below to learn more.
Must Haves:
- A minimum eight years of experience in relational database administration (SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres) with an emphasis on performance tuning and production support.
- Excellent understanding of database schema design and implementation, with strong expertise in SQL development, data encryption, and masking.
- Excellent scripting ability with Powershell and Shell/Bash.
- Subject-matter expertise with open-source technologies and how Postgres integrates with them.
- Professional experience working with highly complex code and data systems.
- Detailed understanding of operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and IBM AIX.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent IT experience.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Professional experience working in a DevOps environment with tools such as Chef, Jenkins, and Ansible with respect to how they integrate with, and facilitate our software and data systems.
- Adept expertise with Python, PHP, and/or PERL.
- History working in distributed data environments using cloud services such as Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), etc.
